We are pleased to annouce that Dr. Gil Speyer has joined the Fulton HPCI team as our Research Scientist. He is a recent graduate of the Fulton School of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU), receiving both his doctorate and masters in Electrical Engineering.
His diverse engineering background makes him a significant addition to the Fulton HPCI. Gil’s PhD work focused on calculating the conductance of small organic molecules, while his master’s thesis dealt with numerical methods. Lastly, Gil also brings with him experience from the private sector, having worked as engineer on the development of FPGAs.
Gil will be working on the applications side of the HPCI, helping researchers implement their programs on our parallel machines. His primary responsibilities include program writing and scripting. As one of his first projects, he will be working with Professor Julia Muccino on developing an ocean modeling code, which evaluates computational models and compares to observations from the field.
We welcome Gil to our team and look forward to exciting new developments at the Fulton HPCI as we continue to grow and expand our capabilities.
